We’re taking a quick pause from fashion this week, and instead showcasing some of our favorite vintage movies of all time. Dressing up for a night on the town in a glamorous outfit and fabulous lingerie underneath is always fun, but sometimes staying in and staging a movie night is just as entertaining–not to mention relaxing. So slip into your favorite Secrets in Lace pajamas, or loungewear and choose one (or all), of the following movies to cuddle up to.

A Brief Encounter (1945) is a classic story of forbidden love. The film starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard portray the story of a typical housewife who meets a handsome doctor in a train station café. Although they both are already married, they can’t help but fall in love. So what’s the poor couple to do? By continuing to see each other while hiding their relationship from others in their town, the plot of this movie will be tugging at your heartstrings.

The Graduate (1967) is hailed as not just one of the greatest romance films, but one of the greatest movies of all time. Another tale of forbidden love, this one focuses more on a love triangle with a recent college graduate. Ben has a steamy affair with his father’s business partner, but soon finds himself in a sticky situation when he also falls in love with the woman’s daughter. In this case, too many women might not be working out in Ben’s favor. While most people have already seen this film, its a classic that never really gets old. And we can’t help but notice the nod to the sexyness of the stocking on the movie cover!

The Philadelphia Story (1940) has some of our favorites stars like Katherine Hepburn, James Stewart, and Cary Grant. The somewhat complicated plot is sure to keep you engaged the whole time, following the passionate marriage and divorce of a socialite and a reporter; then years down the road how their respective roles in society will continue to influence each other’s lives. Especially when one is about to remarry… Sound interesting? You’ve got that right! You’ll have to watch it to see how our favorite vintage stars live happily ever after.

So there you have it–three great movies guaranteed to turn an uneventful night into a nostalgic movie marathon!
