Happy Thanksgiving from Secrets in Lace!

First, we’d like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all of our wonderful customers! We are so lucky to be able to produce beautiful lingerie everyday and bring out the nostalgia and feel from the vintage era. We’ve been lucky to be surrounded by customers who share the love of vintage garments, and today we’re showing off some of our favorite reasons we’re grateful for vintage style. From playful pinups to glamorous gowns, there’s more than enough reasons to love these looks!

First up, we’re grateful for glamour lounging. This ideal was brought to life perfectly by Hollywood starlets like Jean Harlow. Here, you’ll see her in a glamorous gown with feathered trim that’s to die for. Love this look? You can also pull it off in our Ostrich Trimmed Robe, this sheer robe will have you looking and feeling just like Jean – and this diva style is easy to clean with the removable ostrich trim.

Another thing we’re grateful for is the beauty of pin-up art. The history of pin up art could be a blog post of it’s own, but back in the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s, artists would paint these idealistic women in playful poses and stylish lingerie sets and outfits. One of the real-life woman who brought this to life better than anyone is Bettie Page. She was outspoken and full of feisty attitude, it was impossible to look away! Here you’ll see her showing off her favorite stockings. Feeling sassy? Grab your own pair of Fully Fashioned stockings in a variety of style options from our website!

Glamour loungewear and pin-up art are wonderful to enjoy, but that’s often times behind closed doors. While we’d love to spend a lifetime in luxury lingerie, we do have to leave the house every now and then, which is why we’re also grateful for vintage style and it’s comeback in the current times. Women like Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, and a number of others are remembered for their killer style, and it proves to remain timeless today. From adding gloves to your look, adding a crinoline under a skirt, or showing off a sophisticated blouse, we also have all the accessories you need to add that vintage flare to all of your looks. You’ll see current style icon Dita Von Teese shows this off perfectly in 2015.

Today is a day for giving thanks and taking a step back to appreciate what you have – we can’t say enough how grateful we are to have such wonderful and loyal customers who share common interests in this fashion and lingerie style. And based on the pictures above, we’re also grateful for the women back in the day who started it all!
