Hello, to the lovely long weekend, and welcome to the holiday that was made to show the appreciation of the social and economic achievements of hardworking folks around the world. The first Monday in September, Labor Day, is an annual tribute to the nation’s workers to show respect and value for what they are doing and what has been done in the past to better our country. The very first Labor Day was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882 in New York City. When the Central Labor Union first proposed the holiday, it also outlined that celebrations would entail street parades to show the public “the strength and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations.”
